New Delhi: 10th December, 2014. Welfare Party of India asked the Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh government to take string actions against the rightwing extremist Hindutva organisations in Agra for the forceful conversion of Muslims luring them of BPL and ration cards. Party general secretary PC Hamza said people living in utmost pitiable conditions doing odd jobs and picking rags have alleged that they were called for a function with the promise of ration cards etc and this was projected as "ghar vapsi". They have reiterated they neither embraced Hinduism nor have any intention.
“In this circumstance, the state government has to take strict punitive actions against those organizations reported behind this forceful ghar vapsi, such as Dharma Jagaran Manch, Bajrang Dal etc. This kind of unlawful activities, if not nipped in the bud, will create deep divisions in the society,” the statement continued
