WPI Kerala state chapter swear to undertake all agitations for farmi...
Thiruvananthapuram: Welfare Party of India Kerala state general secretary K.Ambujakashan made it clear that his Party would not only extend all possible assistance but would undertake all on-going agitations in Kerala by landless people to possess  farming land for cultivation. He made this announcement  while inaugurating the function organized to hand over food and other materials collected from the public to the victims of the agitation going on at Arippa in Kollam district for more than five months. About 1,300 families, most of them cheated by the Chengara package announced to rehabilitate Dalits and Adivasis, have launched the agitation on 54 acres of land at Arippa. This land has been confiscated by the state government after its lease period has been expired.

Welfare Party state leaders strongly criticized the Kerala government for its three cents formula for landless people. The Party leaders asked the government to distribute all available and cultivable land under its custody and illegally kept by land mafias and corporates to landless people especially the tribals who keep hereditary taste for farming and make them self-reliant and supportive. Ambujakshan added its present policy of allotting three cents of land to a landless family will increase the number of landless people within near future. Large quantity of food items and other materials were collected by party workers of five sourthern districts from the public to the Arippa agitationists.  It was handed over to Sreeraman Koyyoth, President of Dalit –Adivasi agitation front by Fr. Abraham Joseph, national vice-president. The function presided over by Hameed Vaniyamabalam, state vice-president was attended by Prema Pishatati, another vice-president, state secretaries Saasi Pndalam, K.A. Shafeeque and Razack Plaeri along with district leaders Abdul Azeez, Rajagopalan Nair and Murali.
